MoMa Museum-Abstract Exhibition-

We had field trip to MoMa Museum for Abstract Exhibition. There were lots of pieces of works I don't understand. I was walking around and found some pieces interested me.

Blue II. Which is painted by Georgia O'Keeffe in 1916. It was painted with water color. The picture is painted as many blue colors.
When I saw this picture, I felt calm, comfortable. The color blue gives me peace. The picture reminded me a baby in mother's womb in the picture. I felt that comfortable and warm of the womb.

Arkhitekton Gota. Which is made by Kazimir Malevich in 1923 and recounstructed 1978.
According to the wall text at the Exhibition, he was making white on white canvases that he believed had brought painting to its endpoint. He declared that ultimate form of Suprematism is 'Architecture Suprematism'. And he made a building with complex combination of plastic blocks.
When I saw this sculpture, it reminded me some modern building. There was no specific style of architecture on the sculpture. He built it with beauty of simple shape of rectangules without complicated decoration. I felt that sometimes simple shape of combination is better than complex shape.

Model for Pamiatnik III internatsionala . Which constructed by Tevel' Shapiro,  Sofia Dymshits-Tolstaia, Losif Meerzon, and Pavel Vinogradov under Tatlin's direction. It shows willing to coorporate to develop society, politic. It built after the Russian Revolution.
I thought the the sculpture was kind of the Babel. It was sloped on to one side. I felt some short term of human's desire. Long time ago, people built Babel to reach to god, but they failed. The sculpture is same. People tried to make some new society after the Russian Revoultion, but it didn't worked for long.

  1. Hey Mark! I really like the three artworks that you picked, especially the first artwork Blue II. As you said, the paint reminds you a baby in mother's womb and that's what I thought too.
However, here are some points that you might need to check again:

#1 "The color blue gives me peace."

I totally understand what you mean, but I don't think a color will gives you peace. Yet, maybe you can say "The blue color imbued sense of peace."

#2 "A baby who is waiting to come out to world."
I think you missed an article word "the world"

#3 "people built Babel to reach to god"
I think it should be" to reach God."

#4 "but it didn't worked for long"
It should be "It didn't work for long"

    So here's my friendly comments!

p.s. I might be wrong with the grammar

    Jenny :)
