Kindle (p47)

"My mother made no sound , so I added: ' The only thing Father's succeeded in kindling is my ambition.'"  In this context, kindle means to cause the start of something. Masuji smelt burning in the reception room, because his father was working on something. Then, Masuji told his mom that he doesn't want to be like his father concered about the money and accounts when he grow up. That's why Masuji said in the context which is "the only thing Father's succeeded in kindling is my ambition."

Jargon (p42)

"Employing jargon, recounting his way through lengthy calculations, he made no concessions to the fact that he was addressing a young boy." In this context, jargon means the language used for a particular activity. Masuji was saying that he couldn't understand what his dad's had sad in the business meeting, because Masuji is just a boy and those are business language that he couldn't follow up.
